Engineered wetlands collect storm water runoff from streets in
surrounding communities. Storm water runoff contains
sediments and pollutants.
Engineered wetlands allow sediments to settle and pollutants to
be removed before water enters Fish Creek, the Bow River and ground
water sources.
Fish Creek Provincial Park and the City of Calgary have
partnered in the development of a variety of engineered wetlands in
the park to improve water quality in Fish Creek and the Bow
River.
