Group camping and day use areas are available in several provincial parks and provincial recreation areas. These areas are ideal for company or club functions and family reunions.

Before You Book

To reserve a group camping area, you must have at least five camping accommodation units in your camping party (i.e. tent, tent trailer, motor home, van, truck camper).
A group may hold only one reservation for a group camping area within a particular provincial park or recreation area at any one time.

Reserving Group Camping Areas

Reservations are taken on a "first come-first served" basis and may be made at the appropriate reservation office by telephone or in person Monday to Friday from 8:15 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Reservations may also be made in writing, either by application or in the form of a letter; contact the reservation office for application forms and details. Reservations may be accepted up to 12 months in advance at some sites provided the dates being requested are within the term of a site operator's current facility operating agreement.
Some reservation offices are not open during late fall/early winter; at most sites, group camping reservations begin on the first business day in January. Refer to site list below for exceptions.

Reservation Fees

A $10.00 non-refundable reservation fee, plus a deposit equal to the first night's accommodation, is required to hold a group camping reservation.
The reservation fee and deposit must be paid within 21 days of a reservation being made; the reservation fee and deposit for reservations made less than 21 days in advance must be paid at the time the reservation is made.
The pre-paid first night's accommodation fee is refundable as long as the reservation is cancelled at least 21 days before the reservation is to begin; refunds will not be issued if a reservation is cancelled less than 21 days prior to the first day of the reservation.

Group Camping Fees

Group camping fees vary, depending on the number of camping accommodation units in your group and the services provided in the group camping area.
Group camping fees are subject to change without notice.

Length of Stay

The maximum length of stay at group camping areas is 12 consecutive days; your stay may include only one weekend.
Checkout time is 2:00 p.m.

Reserving Group Day Use Areas

Group day use reservations for the upcoming year begin on the first business day in January with the exception of Bow Valley Provincial Park (Elk Flats), where reservations begin first business day in February.
After May 1st, if a group camping area has not been booked for camping, it may be used for group day use (contact appropriate reservation office).

Reservation Fees

A non-refundable reservation fee, plus a deposit equal to the cost of one day's use, is required to hold a group day use reservation.
The deposit amount is refundable only if cancellation is received 21 days prior to the reservation date.
