Education

Kananaskis Country has been offering award-winning education programs for over 30 years. We strive to inform, inspire and involve Albertans to increase their understanding of, respect for and connection to the natural world. Kananaskis Country is recognized provincially and nationally as a leader in environmental education.

Students, teachers, parent volunteers and the public participate in education programs offered by Kananaskis Country educators in many different ways.

  • Field studies provide opportunities for teachers to get their students outside into our park landscape with hands-on, curriculum-driven programs.
  • Kananaskis in the Classroom sows the seeds of stewardship right in your school through theatrical and in-class presentations.
  • Teacher training delivered by Environmental Education professionals and teaching resources developed with teacher's needs in mind.
  • Our interpretive programs provide visitors with engaging theatrical programs, guided hikes and family programs.

We're committed to ensuring our programs are inclusive.  Our education programs can be modified for the full participation of all Albertans regardless of age, ability, language, income, culture or background.

Another way to learn about Alberta's provincial parks is through educational videoconferences offered from some parks.
