Kananaskis Country Interdepartmental Consultative Committee

When Kananaskis Country was created in the late 1970s, it relied on unprecedented collaboration among government departments, land-users and stakeholders. This co-operation continues today with the Kananaskis Country Interdepartmental Consultative Committee (KCICC).

The KCICC oversees and coordinates land-use in the Kananaskis Improvement District (Kananaskis Country), and interdepartmental activities and initiatives that impact Kananaskis Country.  KCICC was established by Ministerial Order 08/02.  The  Committee's authority resides with Ministerial Order 07/02 and updated Ministerial Order 10/10 respecting the Kananaskis Improvement District Land Use Order.  The role of KCICC is set out in its Terms of Reference

KCICC has representation from the provincial ministries responsible for parks, fish and wildlife, forests, public lands, environment, infrastructure, transportation and tourism, as well as the Kananaskis Improvement District Chief Administrative Officer.
