Notice: Named after nearby Pinetop Hill, this small recreation area has no shortage of places to picnic along gurgling Jumpingpound Creek. The area is often snow free earlier in the season than sites further west and is often carpeted with spring flowers. From here, hikers can access the eastern end of Jumpingpound Trail, a loop trail that runs along Jumpingpound Creek and then back across a ridge dotted with evergreen and aspen forests.
