Recreation Notes

Birding: this park is home to large numbers of grassland, forest and shore birds; rare trumpeter swans can be observed from a viewing platform on Little Lake; the Friends of Saskatoon Island Cooperating Association holds a swan festival in the park each April.

Cross-country skiing: 6.4 km groomed trails.

Hiking: 4.2 km walking trails; 1.2 km wheelchair-accessible trail.

Mountain biking: 6.4 km of trails (shared with hikers).

Snowmobiling: access to lake only; snowmobiling is not permitted elsewhere in the park; snowmobile staging is permitted from the boat launch parking lot.

Wildlife viewing: species include snowshoe hares, weasels, woodchucks, muskrats, beavers, deer and coyotes.
