Please be advised that all three boat launches at Aspen Beach Provincial Park are closed until further notice. This necessary measure is due to critically low water levels in Gull Lake, which pose a significant safety risk to boaters and could cause damage to watercraft. Please respect all closures and obey all signage posted on site. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring the safety of all park visitors. 

Alberta Parks is actively monitoring the water levels and will reassess the situation as conditions change. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause to your experience.

Please be advised that Cyanobacterial (Blue-Green Algae) has been identified in the water at this location. Additional information can be found online at AHS Health Advisories

Visitors are advised to take the following precautions:

• Avoid all contact with cyanobacterial blooms. If contact occurs, wash with tap water as soon as possible.
• Do not swim or wade or allow your pets to swim or wade in any areas where cyanobacteria is visible.
• Do not feed whole fish or fish trimmings from this lake to your pets.
• Consider limiting human consumption of whole fish and fish trimmings from this lake, as it is known that fish may store toxins in their liver. People can safely consume fish fillets from this lake.

As always, visitors and residents are reminded to never drink or cook with untreated water directly from any recreational body of water at any time. Boiling this water will not remove the toxins produced by cyanobacteria. An alternative source of drinking water should also be provided for pets and livestock while this advisory is active.

Weather and wind conditions can cause algae blooms to move from one location in the lake to another. As such, this advisory will remain in effect until further notice.

Please note: Waters in which the cyanobacterial bloom is NOT visible can still be used for recreational purposes, even while this Health Advisory is in place.

Multiple black bears have been seen feeding on berries in the area.

Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

• Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
• Avoid activities that involve travelling at high speed, such as running or cycling
• Keep your pet on a leash.

Multiple Black Bears have been observed within the campground recently.

Black bears have been seen in and around the YMCA Camp feeding on natural vegetation.

A Bear Warning has been put in place at Heart Creek Trail, Heart Creek Bunker Trail and the Trans Canada Trail between the Heart Creek Bunker and the access to Grant MacEwan Peak/Acephale climbing area. Numerous black bears, including a black bear sow and cubs-of-the-year, have been seen in the area and in close proximity to these trails.

Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

• Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
• Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
• Avoid activities that involve travelling at high speed, such as running or cycling
• Keep your pet on a leash.

Where: Bow Valley Wildland Provincial Park , Cloudline Trail , Highline Trail

Due to ongoing construction of the Bow Valley Community Fire Guard, the Cloudline Trail, Highline Trail from the East Connector junction (at the east end of Peaks of Grassi community) to the Cloudline Trail, and all surrounding areas will be closed.

The East Connector Trail to the Highline and the Highline heading west from this junction remain OPEN. The access to Middle Sister route is unaffected.

Where: Calling Lake Provincial Park

The water at this location is tested weekly by Alberta Health Services. Our most recent test has produced fecal indicator bacteria levels that exceed the recommended limits. Additional information can be found online at AHS Health Advisories

Contact with these waters may cause illness, and swimming is not recommended.

Never drink or cook with untreated water directly from any lake or reservoir, at any time. Water-borne organisms, including fecal bacteria, can cause vomiting and diarrhea.

The left side of Graceland rock climbing area at Grassi Lakes is closed to minimize disturbances to an owl nesting site. This includes the following routes:

• Memphis
• It’s Now or Never

• Give them plenty of space – at least 30 metres/100 feet (3 bus lengths).
• Be aware of your surroundings.

Campground Loops A, B and C will close for the season on Wednesday, September 9.

Campground Loops D, E and F will close for the season on Monday, September 14.

Campground Loops G and H will move to first-come, first-served on Monday, September 14 for the winter camping season. Power will remain on for the winter. Please bring your own water and firewood. Payment by cash and cheque can be made at the self-reg vault located just past the Seawall Parking Lot, at top of hill from the beach. Power sites are $30 and Walk-in Tenting sites without power are $22.

The water system will be shut down September 14, or earlier if the temperatures dip below freezing. The shower houses, campground water taps, and the sani-dump station will not be available. Please bring your own water.

The Campground Booth's last day of operation is Friday, September 11.

Where: Castle Provincial Park , Designated Camping Area 3 Campground

Designated Camping Area 3B (Wolfberry) will have a partial closure from May 1 to August 31, 2026.

The upper loop of the camping area will be closed for any recreation activities while the lower sites remain open.

• Access to the bathroom is still available. 
• Please follow all posted signs and fence barriers.

Where: Cold Lake Campground , Cold Lake Day Use , Cold Lake Group Use , Cold Lake Provincial Park

Please be advised that with the ongoing weather events, trails may become impassable due to fallen trees and flooding. Please use caution when accessing hiking trails and be prepared to turn back or change your plans. 

Effective Date: September 9, 2026 - Until Further Notice

Where: Cold Lake Campground , Cold Lake Day Use , Cold Lake Group Use , Cold Lake Provincial Park

Please be advised tree clearing, excavation, and construction activities will be taking place at Cold Lake Provincial Park from September 15, 2026, through to June 30, 2027.

During this time, crews will be using a variety of equipment - including chainsaws, brush cutters, and woodchippers to complete vegetation clearing and site preparation for upcoming Park improvements.

The Park's trail network will remain accessible; however, visitors are asked to use caution when travelling near the active work area.

For your safety, please respect all construction signage, barriers and fenced work areas throughout the Park.  Visitors are advised to avoid active work zones and maintain a safe distance from equipment while work is underway.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete these important improvements at Cold Lake Provincial Park.

Where: Blackfoot Lake Staging Area Day Use , Central Staging Area Day Use , Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area , Islet Lake Staging Area Day Use , Waskehegan Staging Area Day Use

Due to recent heavy rains, trails are wet and muddy and some trails and bridges are underwater. Please check trail reports or staging area kiosks for closures before heading out. Use caution in wet areas, as beaver trenches may be hidden and pose a tripping hazard.

Where: Twin Lakes Day Use , Twin Lakes Group Use , Twin Lakes Campground , Twin Lakes Island

Please be advised that the boardwalk section connecting the Twin Lakes Campground shoreline to the Twin Lakes Island within Crimson Lake Provincial Park has been removed due to safety concerns. Planning for a full replacement project is underway.

Due to the nature of the repairs, the island will remain inaccessible by foot for the remainder of the camping season. Visitors may still access the island via watercraft. Please note that with no foot access, emergency response times may be delayed, and visitors must pack out all waste.

Visitor safety is our top priority. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to restore safe public access.

Fall Camping is now in effect for Crow Lake Campground as of Tuesday, September 8.

• Payment by cash and cheque can be made at the self-reg vault located in the Group Use A Site at the cost of $22 per night or $16.50 per night, if campers qualify for the senior's discount.

Winterization of water services for campgrounds, standpipes, flush toilets, and showers will begin September 21, 2026. 

Year-round water, flush toilets, and showers are available at the Lakeview Shower House, located at the entrance to Lakeview Campground.

Water to campgrounds, standpipes, flush toilets, and showers is not guaranteed or charged between September 14, 2026, and June 1, 2027.

Where: Campground Beach Day Use , Dillberry Lake Campground , Dillberry Lake Group Use , Dillberry Lake Provincial Park

As a result of the tornado event on July 8, Dillberry Lake Provincial Park sustained significant damage and the following areas remain closed during hazard tree and debris cleanup:

• Dillberry Lake Campground
• Campground Registration Booth and Concession
• Campground Beach Day Use
• Dillberry Lake Group Use Area
• Kettle Loop Hiking Trail

The South Day Use Area and boat launch are open. Please use caution on the lake as there is possible debris from the storm. The Ranger Loop and Loon Loop (on the west side of the highway) are also open.

Water is not available at Dillberry Lake Day Use water taps due to a water line break.

Campsite numbers at Dinosaur Campground have changed for the 2025/2026 reservable camping season. Please double check the campground maps on Shop.AlbertaParks.ca to confirm you are booking your preferred site.

Where:

Dunvegan Provincial Campground remains open for reservation only camping until September 27. The campground will close for the season on September 28. 

Firewood will remain available for purchase at the Dunvegan Registration Booth for $10/Bin until September 18. The booth will be open 12:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily, except for September 8, 9, and 15 when it is closed. Once the booth is closed for the season on September 18, camper's will need to bring their own firewood. 

Water is tentatively scheduled to be turned off for the season on September 23. Please note that this date is subject to change should cold weather be forecasted. Campers will need to supply their own water following the park's seasonal water shut down.

Where: Baldy Pass Trail , Elbow-Sheep Wildland Provincial Park , Lusk Pass Trail , Mount Baldy scramble routes (including North, South and West ascent/descent trails), Mount Baldy climbing crag.

Due to a close encounter with a cougar.

Although an advisory is in place for this area, cougars can be encountered at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a cougar:

• Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
• Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for cougars and their signs.
• Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible and know how to use it
• Keep children close.
• Keep your pet on a leash at all times.

Where: English Bay Campground , English Bay Provincial Recreation Area , Information & Facilities

Due to the shallow lakebed and prevailing winds constantly pushing sand onto shore, the boat launch at English Bay Provincial Recreation Area may temporarily not be suitable for bigger boats, e.g. wake or surf type.

Larger motor boats can be launched at the Cold Lake Provincial Park boat Launch, or the City of Cold Lake marina.  

• At the Cold Lake Provincial Park Boat Launch - there is no charge for launching boats and parking is available 
• The City of Cold Lake marina charges a daily boat launch fee

Slopes along the Evan Thomas Creek are unstable. Stay away from the edge of the creek.

Where: Figure Eight Lake Campground

The last night of camping at Figure Eight Lake Provincial Campground is September 27. The campground closes for the season on September 28.

Where: Bebo Grove Day Use , Bow Valley Ranch Day Use , Fish Creek Provincial Park , Shannon Terrace Day Use , Sikome Aquatic Facility Day Use

The Central Corridor Pathway in Fish Creek Provincial Park is the approximately 19 km primary artery of the trail system, running through the heart of the park and connecting day use areas to key points of interest. Refurbishment of this pathway is currently underway and is being delivered under three project phases.

Phase 1 of the project (the eastern segment of the pathway) was completed in 2025 and is open to the public. The Government of Alberta is now proceeding with Phases 2 and 3, which will occur concurrently. Although subject to change, the following schedule is anticipated:

August 2026 – December 2026:

• Bebo Grove Day Use Area to Bow Valley Ranch Day Use Area (excluding Glennfield Day Use Area and a segment directly west of Votier’s Flats Day Use Area)
• Bow Bottom Trail SE pedestrian crossing to Sikome Aquatic Facility

2027:

• Bebo Grove Day Use Area to Shannon Terrace Day Use Area
• A segment directly west of Votier’s Flats Day Use Area

Fish Creek Provincial Park will remain open during construction. While work is being completed, short-term delays can be expected along these segments of the Central Corridor Pathway. We recognize this may be inconvenient for visitors; however, it is necessary to ensure public safety.

A small segment of pathway will be temporarily closed to accommodate the Bebo Grove Culvert Repair over the month of September. Fish Creek Provincial Park will remain open during construction. While work is being completed, short distance detours can be expected and flagging personnel will be present. We recognize this may be inconvenient for visitors; however, it is necessary to ensure public safety.

The area adjacent to the Bow Valley Ranch parking lot will be undergoing soil enhancements and reclamation with native plantings. Work on nearby utilities may also be required during this time.

Visitors can expect:

• Trucks delivering sand and equipment distributing materials on site.
• Increased presence of heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers.
• Crews working on nearby utility lines.

Where: Fish Creek Provincial Park , Votier's Flats Day Use

Please be advised the construction activities related to the City of Calgary storm water retention pond west of the Votier's Flats Day Use Area will be taking place from now until late fall or until further notice. This includes work on repairing and reinforcing the pond embankment next to the main paved pathway.

You are advised that Schistosome dermatitis, commonly known as Swimmer’s Itch, has been reported at this beach.

This condition results from contact with a water parasite that causes localized skin irritation. Itching usually begins 10 to 30 minutes after exposure and can last two to three days depending on your particular sensitivity.

Precautions you can take to avoid or limit exposure to Swimmer’s Itch include:

• Avoid spending long periods of time in the water.
• Shower (if available) and briskly rub the skin with a towel immediately after leaving the water. Do not leave visible drops of water on your skin.
• Do not attract birds by feeding them in areas where people are swimming.
• Avoid swimming in areas where Swimmer’s Itch is a problem.

Should you contract Swimmers’ Itch, some relief may be obtained by applying appropriate creams or lotions to the affected areas. Consult your doctor for further advice.

Alberta Parks will be conducting vault toilet replacement at six (6) locations in Kananaskis Region. Work will occur at the following locations from July 07 to August 31, 2026 (subject to change and weather dependent):

There have been recent grizzly bear sightings in and around Kennedy Coulee Ecological Reserve, including both the upland areas and the river valley.

• Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
• Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
• Avoid activities that involve travelling at high speed, such as running or cycling
• Keep your pet on a leash.
• Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible and know how to use it.
• Secure attractants like food, garbage, pet food and any scented items in hard sided vehicles or bear proof lockers.

Unauthorized structures that were built in North Bruderheim Provincial Recreation Area have now been removed. Users are reminded that it is illegal to remove, deface, or build structures within Alberta parks and protected areas.

Users who wish to submit a formal request for a legal structure or bridge can organize an OHV riding group and register it as a legal entity, who can then engage with the Government of Alberta to begin conversations.

Please be advised that Alberta Forestry and Parks will be completing trail construction work and reclamation in and around Pocaterra Cirque Trail within Peter Lougheed Provincial Park between July 6 and Fall 2026, or until further notice. Construction crews will be on site beginning July 6, 2026.

To safely complete this work, the areas outlined in red on the attached map will be temporarily closed for the duration of construction.

The temporary closure is necessary to:

• Protect public safety while construction crews and heavy equipment are active on the trail.
• Allow trail construction and reclamation work to proceed safely and efficiently, minimizing the overall duration of the closure.
• Protect newly reclaimed alpine vegetation and restoration areas while they are being established.

Please note:

• Highwood Meadows Day Use Area will remain open throughout construction.
• Alternative hiking opportunities during the closure include Ptarmigan Cirque, Rawson Lake, Chester Lake, Heart Creek, Picklejar Lakes, and Burstall Pass, subject to current road conditions, trail closures and advisories. Visitors are encouraged to check current conditions before travelling to the area.

Conservation Officers will enforce the area closure under the Provincial Parks Act. Do not cross construction barriers and follow all signage.

Where: Peter Lougheed Provincial Park , Three Isle Lake Trail

Forks Backcountry Campground, Three Isle Lake Backcountry Campground, and Turbine Canyon Backcountry Campground are OPEN.

All three campgrounds are accessible using a temporary detour route that begins at the bridge over the Kananaskis River, approximately 500 metres west of Point Backcountry Campground.

What Campers Need to Know

• Three Isle Trail is closed from the junction with Upper Lake Trail to the Upper Kananaskis River due to a washed-out bridge.
• Obey all closure signs and follow all posted signage and stay on the designated temporary detour.
• Wildlife is commonly present along the temporary detour route. Hikers should stay alert, make noise, travel in groups, and carry bear spray.
• Allow extra travel time, as the detour may increase hiking distance and travel duration.
• Be prepared for rough trail conditions and ongoing repair activities in the area.
• Check Alberta Parks trail reports and advisories before departing, as conditions may change. Visit albertaparks.ca for the latest updates.

The Government of Alberta is committed to ensuring all visitors have a safe experience in our parks, and all visitors are prohibited from going beyond barriers set in place.

Visitors will continue to be able to access the existing camping loops, Group Use Areas and Day Use Areas during this time. Updates to this construction advisory will be posted throughout the duration of the project as construction progresses and project schedule details are finalized.

Due to low water levels and deteriorating conditions of the launch pads, the boat launch is not to be used to launch boats with trailers anymore.

Due to road construction, the 1st Equestrian Camping Loop is closed for the season.

To help reduce the risk of flooding, improvements will be underway at Rock Lake Provincial Park from July 19 to October 31, 2026. The project includes raising a portion of the Rock Lake Access Road and constructing a new bridge over the Wild Hay River.

The park will remain open during construction, except for the closure of the 1st Equestrian Camping Loop from August 1 to October 31, 2026. A single-lane temporary access road will be in place to maintain access through the area.

Visitors are asked to follow all posted signage and directions from construction personnel and to stay clear of active construction zones.

The Rock Lake Access Road is subject to sudden flooding during the spring and summer due to rising water on the Wildhay River. Please proceed with caution into the park, especially after heavy precipitation or snow melt from the mountains.

Alberta Parks is monitoring the road; however, river levels can change rapidly.

Starting September 8, the Saskatoon Island Provincial Park Campground is undergoing a park-wide power project. As a result, the campground is closing on September 7 and there will be no fall camping for the 2026 season.

There has been a significant amount of rainfall this season. The lake levels of Lac La Biche and of many wetland areas are higher than usual. 

Please avoid the following trails:

• Camper's Beach to Lac La Biche Lookout
• Boardwalk Loop Trail, from Junction of Long Point down along Boardwalk Beach
• The east portion of Kinglet Trail from junction of Nightlife trail to Old Growth Alley
• Day Use Area, low trails along Area C to D
• Causeway Trail on Long Island, low area on paved trail

There are barricades/caution tape on the mentioned trails as they are in very poor condition. See attached map (red areas indicate the wet areas that are not passable or not ideal trail conditions. 

Please use caution on trails, as if significant rainfall occurs other trails/boardwalks may become very muddy or in poor condition as well.

Campground Loops B, C, & Group Use will remain open until Monday, October 12. Comfort Camping Cabins #1-#5 & Comfort Camping Tipis #16 & #17 remain open until September 30. Comfort Camping Cabins #6-#15 are open year-round.

• The Dump Station (along wither Water Fill) will remain open at this time, unless colder weather occurs.
• The Group Use Site and open Campground Loops will have water taps stands available for use, unless colder weather occurs. 
• Firewood and other camping supplies will continue to be available at the Campground Store, open Wednesday-Sunday, with reduced hours. On Mondays & Tuesdays campers can request firewood using the sign-up sheet next to the wood shed (cash payment only).
• Comfort Camping Area's water services, check-in & firewood sales at the Comfort Camping Registration Booth will continue to be offered year-round, with reduced hours.

A temporary detour has been established around the closed section of Ribbon Creek Trail due to a washed-out bridge.

The detour involves taking the Terrace Trail across the large bridge from the Ribbon Day Use Area to Kovach Trail and then to Link Trail. A bridge over Ribbon Creek on the Link Trail connects the detour back to the Ribbon Creek Trail.

What Visitors Need to Know

• Ribbon Creek Trail is closed from the Ribbon Creek Day Use to the Link Trail junction due to a washed-out bridge.
• Obey all closure signs and follow all posted signage and stay on the designated temporary detour.
• Allow extra travel time, as the detour may increase hiking distance and travel duration.
• Check Alberta Parks trail reports and advisories before departing, as conditions may change. Visit albertaparks.ca for the latest updates.

Ribbon Fall Backcountry Campground, Ribbon Lake Backcountry Campground and Lillian Lake Backcountry Campground can now all be accessed from Galatea Trail, Buller Pass Trail, and Ribbon Creek Trail via temporary detour.

The Lower Wild Sculpture Trail and Upper Wild Sculpture Trail are accessible for hiking but be aware that the trails can be steep and have washed out in some places due to mud slides. Other trails in Sundance Provincial Park leading to the backcountry campsites are currently not maintained and are overgrown in places with significant deadfall. Caution is advised.

Please be advised that Cyanobacterial (Blue-Green Algae) has been identified in the water at this location. Additional information can be found online at AHS Health Advisories

Visitors are advised to take the following precautions:

• Avoid all contact with cyanobacterial blooms. If contact occurs, wash with tap water as soon as possible.
• Do not swim or wade or allow your pets to swim or wade in any areas where cyanobacteria is visible.
• Do not feed whole fish or fish trimmings from this lake to your pets.
• Consider limiting human consumption of whole fish and fish trimmings from this lake, as it is known that fish may store toxins in their liver. People can safely consume fish fillets from this lake.

As always, visitors and residents are reminded to never drink or cook with untreated water directly from any recreational body of water at any time. Boiling this water will not remove the toxins produced by cyanobacteria. An alternative source of drinking water should also be provided for pets and livestock while this advisory is active.

Weather and wind conditions can cause algae blooms to move from one location in the lake to another. As such, this advisory will remain in effect until further notice.

Please note: Waters in which the cyanobacterial bloom is NOT visible can still be used for recreational purposes, even while this Health Advisory is in place.

Wastewater system upgrades will take place at Vermilion Provincial Park starting September 8, 2026.

Construction crews will begin work around the maintenance shop and the residence. In mid-October, construction will begin at the main lift station located near the Aspen Trailhead. Visitors using the trail system may notice construction equipment, noise, and increased activity in the work areas during business hours, Monday to Friday. Some trails may be temporarily closed.

For your safety, please follow all signs, barriers, and fenced areas. Visitors should stay away from active work areas and use caution when near construction equipment.

Construction work will pause from December to mid-February and should be completed by spring 2027.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation while this important infrastructure work is being completed.

Follow the direction of all signage and personnel in the area and stay out of active construction zones.

The stairs at the Ross Lake Area H Group Use are currently closed. The stairs have been severely damaged by the recent heavy rains and are not safe to use. Visitors can access the lake at the beach between campground loops C and D.

Please be advised from September 8 through October 31, tree clearing and maintenance work will be taking place in several areas of Whitney Lakes Provincial Park and Ross Lake Campground.

During this time, crews will be using a variety of equipment including chainsaws, brush cutters, and woodchippers to complete small scale vegetation clearing around the Shower Building and Group Use Shelters.

For your safety, please respect all construction signage, barriers, and fenced work areas throughout the park.  Visitors are advised to avoid active work zones, particularly when equipment is in operation.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete these important improvements to the Park.

The lake level in Wildhorse Lake is low. As a result, the floating dock is anchored in very shallow water and the ground is muddy. Please exercise caution while launching boats.

Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park Campground and group use areas will be closed for a septic system replacement from September 28 to November 15, 2026.

The day use area in the valley will remain open, but the access road will be closed to both vehicle and foot traffic. Visitors will be able to park at the Visitor Centre and walk down through the Hoodoos along Visitor Centre trail.

Where: Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park

Alberta Forestry and Parks is temporarily closing a portion of the Coffin Bridge Management Unit of Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park to allow construction of a new walk-in campground southeast of Coffin Bridge, adjacent to the hand boat launch on the Milk River.

The new campground will support multi-day paddling trips and will include 12 walk-in campsites, an access trail, and a boat-trailer parking area. Please refer to the enclosed Area Closure Map for the exact location.

Construction will occur from September to November 2026, with minor work continuing in 2027. The active construction area will be closed to visitors during this time, with signage posted and the closure enforced under the Provincial Parks Act.

The hand boat launch will remain open. A portable toilet will be provided when construction limits access to the existing vault toilet.

This temporary closure is necessary to ensure public and worker safety, support efficient construction, and meet environmental requirements. Please follow all posted signage and stay clear of the construction area.

Follow the direction of all signage and personnel in the area and stay out of active construction zones.

Please be advised that there have been multiple sightings of bears throughout Young's Point Provincial Park.

Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

• Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
• Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
• Avoid activities that involve travelling at high speed, such as running or cycling
• Keep your pet on a leash.
• Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible and know how to use it.
• Secure attractants like food, garbage, pet food and any scented items in hard sided vehicles or bear proof lockers.
• Learn more about bear safety.

Report sightings and incidents to 310-LAND (5263).

Where: Young's Point Campground , Young's Point Day Use , Young's Point Group Use , Young's Point Provincial Park , Eagle Creek/Boreal Loop Trail, Sturgeon Trail

Recent severe rain and thunderstorms has resulted in multiple downed tree's and wet trails on Eagle Creek/Boreal Loop and Sturgeon Trail at Young's Point Provincial Park. 

Various sections of trail are soft and wet, under water, or very muddy.  

Visitors are encouraged to use caution when on the trails.

Where: Young's Point Campground , Young's Point Group Use

Group Use and Loops A & B close for the season on September 7, with the last night of camping being September 6. Reservation-only camping remains available after September 7 in Loop C and Big Horn Loop. 

Loop C will close for the season on September 28 with the last night of reservation-only camping on September 27. 

Big Horn Loop will close for the season on October 13 with the last night of reservation-only camping on October 12. 

Firewood will remain available for purchase at the Young's Point Registration Booth for $10/bin until September 18. The booth will be open 12:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., except for September 8, 9 and 15 when it is closed. After the booth closes for the season on September 19, campers will need to supply their own firewood. 

Water is tentatively scheduled to be turned off for the season on September 21. Please note that this date is subject to change should cold weather be forecasted. Campers will need to supply their own water following the park's seasonal water shut down.

There is no first-come, first-served camping available.
