What makes an ecosystem special? And how are they impacted by climate change and human development?
In this immersive science program designed for grade 6 students and adaptable to grade 9, students will dive into the Living Systems curriculum by comparing two distinct ecosystems. Students will hike ~5 km as they engage in hands-on exploration, interactive games, and activities that uncover how abiotic and biotic features interact to form biodiverse ecosystems. This full-day field study fosters a meaningful connection to the land while highlighting the vital role Alberta Parks plays in protecting the province’s diversity of life.
