Everyone can learn skills and techniques to increase their safety while travelling in winter mountain environments. Avalanches are unique winter safety phenomena which require a matched level of knowledge, skills, and attitude. Snowpack variability is monitored by avalanche forecasters and snow scientists which impacts winter safety in the mountains. Travelling on snowshoes is a fun and safe winter activity when you understand terrain and are dressed for the weather. |
