Backcountry Camping

Backcountry camping involves travelling on foot, bike, horse or by boat at least 1 km to a campground inaccessible to motorized vehicles.

Kananaskis backcountry campgrounds are bookable on Shop.Albertaparks.ca. They are grouped into permit areas by potential backcountry trips.
First-come, first-served and random backcountry campgrounds are listed in the table below.
