Responsibilities

Helitack Crew – The Helitack (HAC) program provides the right individual with a unique opportunity to work as a team member alongside people with similar interests. It offers the chance to see different and remote areas of the province and to assist in preserving Alberta's natural resources.

Qualifications

Requirements

Education:

• Some high school education plus some related forestry or fire fighting experience (i.e. up to 12 months) 

Additional Requirements: 

• Must be physically fit as this is a physically demanding position
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• Successful candidates require a recent defensive driving course (within three years)

Prior to commencement:

• Standard First Aid and CPR Level C + AED 
• Be able to pass the WFX-Fit test.
• A Driver’s Abstract, showing a record of seven (7) demerits or less, must be obtained. Your driver’s abstract must show your driving record for the past five years, and all violations (moving and non-moving), citations, suspensions, and any driving restrictions placed upon you. Your driver’s abstract is required to be obtained within 30 days prior to your commencement date (noted above) and must be presented to management prior to your commencement for your above-stated position.

Terms of Employment

• Passing results of the WFX-Fit test to endure rigorous training, and at times, arduous working conditions
• Valid Standard First Aid certificate with CPR
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent, with acceptable Driver’s Abstract record per Qualifications requirements
• Defensive Driving Certificate
