The Grande Prairie Region Parks Management Plan will be expanded and incorporated into an Upper Peace Regional Park Plan that will align with the Upper Peace Regional Plan to be developed under the Alberta Land-use Framework.
The Alberta Land-use Framework will be a blueprint to manage the combined impact of all activities over the long-term, to sustain a healthy regional economy, environment, and quality of life. Seven regional plans will be developed across the province (2009 - 2012). For more information, and a map, please visit www.landuse.alberta.ca.
Development of the Grande Prairie Region Parks Management Plan focused on 10 parks within an hour's drive of Grande Prairie.
We received valuable information from the public and stakeholders during development and consultation of the Grande Prairie Region Parks Management Plan.
The feedbackwill be used to inform the development of the Land-use Framework Upper Peace Regional Plan, as well as the subsequent Upper Peace Regional Parks Plan.
Input gathered on additional parks within the Upper Peace region will also inform the Land-use Framework regional plan and the regional park plan.
We would like to thank you for your input and interest and we encourage you to check back on this website for future updates and opportunities to provide input.
We encourage all Albertans to take an active role in planning the future of Alberta parks. Please check Public Consultations/Notifications to learn about other opportunities.
