Gregoire Lake Provincial Park is located 30 km southeast of Fort McMurray. The purpose of the campground expansion is to accommodate the growing recreational demand within the Fort McMurray area.
The public review and comment period held March 23 to May 21, 2009 for the Gregoire Lake Provincial Park proposed campground expansion and facility upgrades is now complete.

Future decisions on the campground expansion will be based on the results of an environmental assessment, to be completed this fall, as well as a historical resources review and the availability of funding.

A New Group Use Area with electrified stalls, camp kitchen, combo vault toilet and other amenities, located west of the existing group use area.
New Campground Loops east and west of the existing firewood storage area, incorporating a minimum of 157 campsites (single, double occupancy, accessible and pull through), trail connections and amenity spaces.
Lower Day Use Parking Area Improvements including additional parking stalls, accessible parking spaces, and loading area.

Upper Day Use Parking Area Improvement including additional parking stalls and improved traffic flow.New Road Access to Lower Day Use Parking Area providing direct access to the beachfront area and by-passing the upper day use parking area.
Additional Day Use Parking Area Development south of the upper day use parking area, with improved trail connections to the day use area below.
Boat Launch Parking Area Improvements including maximizing existing parking capacity, improving traffic flow, and creating additional parking spaces.
Trail Network Expansion featuring new trails linking loops G and H to the existing internal circulation trail network, and a new trail connecting the lakeshore trail to the north loop trail.
Trail Network Upgrading including paving the lakeshore trail and the internal circulation trail.
New Trails linking the new campground loops with the existing trail network.
A Signage Plan including required regulatory / directional signage associated with new development, as well as recommended locations for wayfinding / directional signage along trails.
