As part of our commitment in the Plan for Parks to create additional recreational opportunities for Albertans, to generate opportunities to upgrade and develop parks facilities and to keep Albertans informed, Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation is providing notice of two developments within Crow Lake Provincial Park.
The first is a change in the western boundary of the park, in order to make room for the twinning of Highway 63. These lands previously contained a campground, which was lost to fire in 2002. The site continues to be used for day-use and lake access.
The second is the development of a new campground within Crow Lake Provincial Park, to replace the campground lost to fire. The new campground will be located on the northshore of Crow Lake. It will be rustic in nature, with 30 unpowered camping units, vault toilets, and a hand launch for small boats.
In preparing for the campground development, Parks has conducted environmental reviews and historical reviews. Both reviews found that the campground would have low impact.
