As part of our ongoing commitment to provide quality recreational opportunities and keep Albertans informed, Alberta Parks is providing notice of changes to the Boulton Creek Campground in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. The Lower Kananaskis Lake area is a popular recreation destination but also contains critical wildlife habitat. Balancing the needs of people and wildlife is essential to the continued safety of campers and the area’s overall ecological integrity. This project is part of the Government of Alberta’s commitment to maintain camping capacity while ensuring camper safety and enhancing wildlife habitat.

With the construction now completed, Alberta Parks is pleased to share its success with Albertans. The campsite relocation diversifies the camping options available at Boulton Creek Campground, increases camper safety, and helps ensure bears have increased access to critical habitat.
