This campground is found in Fish Lake Provincial Recreation Area, 6 km west of Nordegg on Hwy. 11 and 2 km south on an access road. There are over 100 sites, including power, unserviced, waterfront and pull-through sites. Sites are spacious and most are surrounded by trees. You can canoe or boat using an electric motor on the beautiful foothill lake, which is stocked with rainbow trout. There is hiking, mountain biking, and swimming in the area. The camp store offers firewood sales, snacks and stocks basic camping supplies.
While campers may take advantage of the proximity to off-highway vehicle (OHV) trails, off-loading or operating OHVs inside the park is strictly prohibited. OHVs must remain on trailers until they reach the nearby trail systems and staging areas.
Note that Fish Lake is also referred to as Shunda Lake.
