Construction Closure - Dickson Point Trout Pond

    Effective Date: January 26, 2026 - Until Further Notice

    Where: Dickson Point Campground

    Details: Please be advised that a construction project will be occurring at Dickson Point in January 2026. The project is scheduled to commence on January 26th and we anticipate that the closure will be in place until mid March. 

    Heavy equipment and a construction crew will be on site completing work on the Dickson Dam berm on the outskirts of the trout pond. During this time, access to the trout pond will be closed.

    The Government of Alberta is committed to ensuring all visitors have a safe experience in our parks, and all visitors are prohibited from going beyond the barriers set in place. Visitors will not be able to access the Dickson Trout Pond, Boat Launch or Day Use parking lot area during this time. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause to your experience.

    Follow the direction of all signage and personnel in the area and stay out of active construction zones.

South Dyke Campground offers spacious sites that are suitable for RVs and tents and have some shelter from mixed forest surrounding the campground. Here you can hike, mountain bike, swim or relax on the beach. Go sailing, wind surfing, canoeing, boating, or fishing on the large reservoir.

Firewood

Firewood alert! Firewood not available. Help stop the spread of forest pests, Dutch elm disease and emerald ash borer.  Plan to buy firewood locally, burn on site, never bring home.

Visitors can bring their own firewood or purchase wood from: Spruce View Co-op Hwy. 54 (open Monday-Saturday 7:00 am to 9:00 pm, Sunday 9:00 am to 9:00 pm) or Innisfail FasGas (open 24/7).

Water

There is no water on site. Please plan to bring your own water.
