Kootenay Plains Provincial Recreation Area offers a unique group camping experience, often revisited as a long-standing tradition. The overall site is arranged in an oval shape featuring eight distinct group sites.
Cavalcade Group Area 1 provides a private option that can accommodate a maximum of 10 camping units. The site features a mix of gravel and grass, a fire pit, access to a vault toilet and a cook shelter. Most notably, the location provides stunning, expansive vistas of the surrounding mountain ranges, ensuring a truly memorable outdoor experience.
Please ensure you bring firewood, drinking water, and a map of the area if you plan to visit as no services are available, and there is no cell phone reception. Firewood purchases can be organized with the facility operator with proper notice ahead of your reservation.
