Beaver Buddies

Get ready for a hands-on adventure as your students discover the incredible world of Canada’s largest rodent—the beaver!  Beavers are renowned for their remarkable ability to reshape the landscape, building dams and lodges that help them meet their needs for safety, food, and shelter. Students uncover these adaptations and visit an active beaver lodge.

Students will:

  • Waddle and splash like beavers as they learn how these animals move through their watery world
  • Become nature detectives, searching for real signs of beaver activity
  • Dress up as beavers to explore their unique adaptations—from webbed feet to waterproof fur
  • Discover how beavers build their homes and thrive in Alberta’s wild spaces
