Road Warning - Winter Road Conditions - Use Caution

    Effective Date: December 15, 2025 - Until Further Notice

    Where: Mitchell Lake Campground , Mitchell Lake PRA

    Details: Winter weather may lead to hazardous seasonal road conditions when entering the park. Please use caution when driving:
    • We recommend that visitors utilize 4x4 when driving into the park. 
    • Excess gravel is available at the top and bottom of the hill if needed for extra traction

Mitchell Lake Provincial Recreation Area has a small campground with 2 walk-in tenting sites, and 3 open, gravel sites next to the parking lot. Enjoy the easy  access of the hand launch for your canoes or electric powered boats, or check out one of the several beautiful piers where you can cast a line and catch some trout.

19 km south of Rocky Mountain House on Hwy. 22 & 10 km west on access road
