Boreal Forest - Dry Mixedwood |
Natural Region Description | This site contains: moderately rolling uplands;a steep embankment to the Pembina River; and uplands of mainly aspen or aspen-balsam poplar forest. The river embankment varies from sparsely vegetated, eroding cliffs to more gently-sloping areas with aspen forest or shrublands. The river bank is incised by a deep ravine with white spruce-paper birch-balsam poplar forest. This is good wildlife habitat (reports of elk in the area), with abundant bird species. |
