Construction Advisory - Campground Expansion Project

    Effective Date: March 1, 2026 - Until Further Notice

    Where: Alder Group Use , Birch Group Use , Deer Group Use , Jackfish Group Use , Moose Group Use , Pigeon Day Use , Pigeon Lake Campground , Pigeon Lake Yurts ComfortCamping , Poplar Group Use , Spruce Group Use , Squirrel Group Use , Willow Group Use

    Details: Please be advised that construction of the new camping loop at the Pigeon Lake Campground is scheduled to take place during the 2026 operational season. 

    Heavy equipment and a construction crew will be on site working on the project. The areas scheduled for construction will have minimal impact to the existing campsites. We are anticipating construction noise to be present during daytime hours while the construction is taking place. The Government of Alberta is committed to ensuring all visitors have a safe experience in our parks, and all visitors are prohibited from going beyond barriers set in place.

    Visitors will continue to be able to access the existing camping loops, group use areas and day use areas during this time. Updates to this construction advisory will be posted throughout the duration of the project as construction progresses and project schedule details are finalized.

    Follow the direction of all signage and personnel in the area and stay out of active construction zones.

Zeiner Campground offers sites suited to tents and RVs, with unserviced, power, pull-through, and walk-in options. Some are nestled in surrounding forest, and others are in an open area closer to the waterfront, including some with lake views. Amenities here include showers, flush toilets, and a playground.  Enjoy beach and water activities and hike or bike on shady forested trails nearby.

  • Please be advised that non-biting midges are present at Pigeon Lake throughout the spring and summer. Their life cycle is for a few days, and can result in large swarms. As this is an intermittent natural phenomenon, advanced notice of conditions cannot be provided and refunds are not provided for insects.”
  • There is no dock or boat launch on site, but there are two within a short driving distance of the campground.

Firewood costs $10.00/bundle.

Sewage

Sani-Dump fees are $5.00 for registered campers and $10.00 for non-registered campers, payable at the Zeiner Store.
