Redwater Provincial Recreation Area is set within a unique ecosystem of sandy soils and aspen forest. It features many trails which are popular with local OHV and equestrian users. The Park is close to the North Saskatchewan River, however, there is no river access or views from the park.
There is a small staging area and parking lot on Range Road 205, just south of Township Rd 574. A larger Staging Area is located on the east side RR 205 just south of the smaller one. This area includes truck and trailer parking and a vault/pit toilet.
Due to the extreme threat of wildfire, fires are prohibited in Redwater Provincial Recreation Area. Please check for Fire Bans before you ride. When an OHV Restriction is in place, OHV use is not permitted in this area. Target shooting is prohibited; firearms discharge permits are required for hunting. Redwater is a day use only recreation area, no overnight stays are permitted.
In 2025 a wildfire passed through this area, impacting park access and trails. Check for advisories and always follow instructions on park signage.
