Rock Lake Day Use

Where: Rock Lake Provincial Park , Rock Lake Access Road

Details: The Rock Lake Access Road is subject to sudden flooding during the spring and summer due to rising water on the Wildhay River. Please proceed with caution into the park, especially after heavy precipitation or snow melt from the mountains. Alberta Parks is monitoring the road; however, river levels can change rapidly.

Where: Rock Lake Day Use , Rock Lake Campground , Rock Lake Provincial Park

Details: To help reduce the risk of flooding, improvements will be underway at Rock Lake Provincial Park from July 19 to October 31, 2026. The project includes raising a portion of the Rock Lake Access Road and constructing a new bridge over the Wild Hay River. The park will remain open during construction, except for the closure of the 1st Equestrian Camping Loop from August 1 to October 31, 2026. A single-lane temporary access road will be in place to maintain access through the area. Visitors are asked to follow all posted signage and directions from construction personnel and to stay clear of active construction zones. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we invest in improvements that will enhance the park experience for all visitors.
