Located right alongside Prairie Creek, 31 km southwest of Rocky Mountain House, Strachan Group Use Area is easily accessible, and is a great spot for your group of up to 10 units to gather. With access to vault toilets, a rustic cookhouse shelter with wood stove, and firepits, this group site has everything you need.
Please ensure you bring firewood, drinking water, and a map of the area if you plan to visit as no services are available, and cell phone reception is limited.
While campers may take advantage of the proximity to off-highway vehicle (OHV) trails, off-loading or operating OHVs inside the park is strictly prohibited. OHVs must remain on trailers until they reach the nearby trail systems and staging areas.
This group site is gated and secured. A combination will be required to enter the group site area. Reservation holders will be contacted approximately 2 days prior to arrival date by Alberta Parks Staff with details on how to access the group site.
FirewoodFirewood is not available. Help stop the spread of forest pests, Dutch elm disease and emerald ash borer. Plan to bring or buy firewood locally to burn on site.
