Saddle Ridge Equestrian Campground

Saddle Ridge Equestrian Campground is located in Sulphur Gates Provincial Recreation Area, 5 km north and 7 km west of Grande Cache off Hwy. 40. There are 22 equestrian campsites with corrals, and two equestrian Day Use sites.

A short distance down the road is Hikers Canyon Campground with 11 regular campsites suitable for tents. From the parking lot at the campground, a short trail leads to lookout platforms with spectacular views of the Sulphur River canyon and the Smoky River. 

Equestrian campgrounds are intended for campers bringing a horse. Please only book at an equestrian campground if you are using it for equestrian purposes as there are only a few campgrounds available to these users.

First Come, First Serve
Firewood

Firewood is not available. Help stop the spread of forest pests, Dutch elm disease and emerald ash borer. Plan to bring or buy firewood locally to burn on site.

Water

Please bring your own water. Water from the hand pump/tap is not safe for consumption or use and should only be used to put out fires.

Equestrian

Additional fee of $4.00/night/horse

1 on-site water trough provided for horses.
