Backcountry Campgrounds

Note: Designated backcountry campsites have bear poles to safely store your food while camping. Some of the pulley systems are not functional. Please bring your own rope and a storage sack to hang your food.

Sawmill Backcountry

• Access: From Whitehorse Creek Campground via Lower Whitehorse Creek Trail or via Upper Whitehorse Creek Trail

• Access: From Whitehorse Creek Campground via Lower Whitehorse Creek Trail (5 km one-way) or via Upper Whitehorse Creek Trail (4.5 km one-way)

Random Backcountry Camping

• Random backcountry camping is permitted in the park EXCEPT at Cardinal Divide and within 1 kilometre of Whitehorse Creek Campground.
• Fiddle Pass Trail goes to Miette Hot Springs in Jasper National Park. If you plan to continue into Jasper National Park, you must arrange in advance for an overnight Wilderness Pass at the Jasper Information Centre & Backcountry Trail Office (1-780-852-6177).
