This pretty campground is found in Bow Valley Provincial Park, about 5 km east of Canmore on Hwy. 1. Upgrades in spring 2017 added 20 campsites. The majority of the campsites are now serviced with power. The campground is next to the Bow River, offering pleasant views. There are many activities available in this area, including hiking, biking, fishing, and paddling.

Camping Notes


There are no first-come, first-served sites at this campground this year in order to reduce cash handling to align with Alberta's health guidelines due to COVID-19.

  • Water shut off September 30th.
  • Dump station at Bow Valley campground available at Canmore Information or Visitors Center Dump stations
  • All power sites at 30 amp.

Firewood available for purchase from campground manager/hosts.


Water is available from a hand pump and a water tap near the tenting area at this site. Although Alberta Parks strives to maintain water quality, we recommend that you bring your own drinking water.
