A Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required to park your vehicle in Kananaskis and the Bow Valley

Where: Bow Valley Provincial Park , Many Springs Day Use , Many Springs Interpretive Trail

Details: Multiple black bears have been seen feeding on berries in the area.

Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

  • Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
  • Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
  • Keep your pet on a leash.
  • Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible and know how to use it.
  • Secure attractants like food, garbage, pet food and any scented items in hard sided vehicles or bear proof lockers.
  • Learn more about bear safety.

Where: Bow Valley Provincial Park , Three Sisters Campground

Details: Multiple Black Bears have been observed within the campground recently.

  • Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
  • Keep your pet on a leash.
  • Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible and know how to use it.
  • Secure attractants like food, garbage, pet food and any scented items in hard sided vehicles or bear proof lockers.
  • Learn more about bear safety.

Details: Black bears have been seen in and around the YMCA Camp feeding on natural vegetation.

Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

  • Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
  • Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
  • Keep your pet on a leash.
  • Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible and know how to use it.
  • Secure attractants like food, garbage, pet food and any scented items in hard sided vehicles or bear proof lockers.
  • Learn more about bear safety.

Facility Operator: Cedar & Spruce Campgrounds

This large campground is located about 30 km east of Canmore just north of Hwy. 1, off Hwy. 1X. Sites are well-treed with a variety of options: unserviced, power/water, and walk-in tenting. It is situated along the Bow River for pleasant views of the valley and surrounding mountains. Enjoy Interpretive programs, concession, playground and showers.

  • Reservations can be made 90 days in advance of arrival date.
Please Note: Bow Valley Campground has shared breaker boxes located in the following campsites: B-4, B-15, C-4, C-10, C-17, C-26, C-34, D-5, D-10, E-10, E-25B, F-6, F-17, F-27. Campers may be asked to reset the breaker of a neighbouring campsite.

Firewood

Firewood is available for purchase at campground store

Water
  • Water is available mid-May until the end of the season. This includes showers, flush toilets, and the dump station. Water is available on site at the dump station and water fill point outside comfort station, but not at individual campsites.
  • Showers are available for a fee.
Sewage

A sewage disposal station is located at Willow Rock Campground. Check Kananaskis RV Sewage Disposal Stations for a full listing.
