Balancing the needs of the natural environment with what people want is a challenge in Fish Creek Provincial Park. Education is an important tool in ensuring the long-term ecological sustainability of this protected area. Fish Creek Provincial Park is an ideal outdoor classroom for schools and youth groups.
We have developed a strong focus on curriculum-connected programming. Students stimulate their curiosity while enjoying nature explorations that support school curriculum set by Alberta Education. We support teachers in planning their park visit with programming either conducted by our Environmental Education staff or self-delivered.
We offer many environmental education programs for schools. Our programming focuses on participants' exploration and connection to a variety of natural ecosystems.
