Insect Intrigue

Your students will be kept busy as bees with outdoor exploration - this field trip will leave your class buzzing with excitement! Delve into the intriguing world of insects and learn how these small crawling and flying invertebrates adapt to their environment. Through active learning, students will gain proficiency in observing, analyzing and reflecting on invertebrates.

Students will:

  • Collect and examine small invertebrates
  • Measure air temperature and observe the effects of temperature on invertebrate activity
  • Identify, classify, compare and contrast small invertebrates
  • Identify the habitat that they find the invertebrate in
  • Investigate the life cycle of a ladybug and find examples of this species in nature
