Alberta Parks

Structured for Survival

What can we learn about how plants and animals survive from exploring their unique body parts and structures?

Classes explore the park searching for and identifying plants, animals, insects, and spiders. Students examine the organisms they observe noting physical characteristics, unique structures and body parts and relate these to their possible functions. Students also explore examples of respect and care for parks and the natural environment and create road signs representing important rules and guidelines for park visitation and use.
