DO NOT Feed Wildlife
- Feeding wildlife in the park is prohibited.
Conservation Officers will remove feeding stations that are inside park boundaries. Enforcement action will be taken against anyone who continues to feed wildlife in the park.
Sharing the Park Boundary
Fish Creek Provincial Park is surrounded by approximately six thousand houses. Park staff are asking for your support in maintaining the park in its natural state. There are a number of things good neighbours can do, and the following is a partial list:
- Please dispose of your grass and tree clippings in an appropriate manner. When these clippings are dumped behind a fence, it detracts from the beauty of the park and introduces invasive plants.
- Please remove all structural items that have been placed in the park. The park is not the place to store unwanted items that have “long been forgotten about” or are no longer of use to you.
- Please relocate your compost bin into your yard. Composting is a great way to be environmentally friendly but we ask that the bins be kept off park land.

- Please do not plant trees or flower beds in the park. By doing this you will be introducing non-native plants and weeds into the park. Park staff will not be removing trees that have already become established but will remove newly planted materials.
- Please do not put up bird feeders or leave out food to feed wildlife. Feeding of wildlife in Alberta Provincial Parks is a violation under the Provincial Parks Act.
- If you have renovation plans and need to access your backyard via the park, please ensure you contact us and request a permit. These permits are free.
- Please dispose of your litter in the garbage bins provided while visiting the park.
Fish Creek Provincial Park is one of North America's largest natural urban protected areas. Please consider how you share the boundary with this place in ways that allow it to prosper for future generations. There are many opportunities to give something back to a land that provides so much. Stay off the Ice
- To ensure your safety, please stay off the ice in Fish Creek in winter.
- The ice is very thin. It will remain thin, especially on ponds, due to water level fluctuations and Calgary's warm winter temperatures.
