Feb 26th: Grooming took place at Mt. Shark on Wednesday this week to accommodate preparations for the annual cookie race that is scheduled to take place on Saturday in PLPP. Light Snowfall and strong winds persisted throughout both the morning and afternoon grooming shifts which left sections of some trails (especially those groomed earlier in the day) wind drifted with short sections of tracks filled in by the heavy winds.

There is generally a good base at Mt Shark but a few hazards still exist, such as a few drainage dips and possible exposed ground or rocks (on the two usual tight corners on Ursa Major and Hercules.

Always come prepared for a variety of conditions, that can change suddenly throughout the day. You may want to consider bringing hiking poles, micro spikes, toques, gloves and multiple layers. Snowshoeing, Winter Walking and fat biking are only permitted on the multi-use Watridge Lake trail.
