Elk Pass winter trail climbs to the pass on an old fire road from which you can continue into British Columbia and Elk Lakes Provincial Park. Elk Lakes headquarters and the Alpine Club of Canada's Elk Lakes Cabin (alpineclubofcanada.ca/facility/elklakes.html) are located 4.3 km from the Alberta/BC border.
