Wasootch Ridge trail begins at the top of Wasootch Day Use parking and quickly gains elevation through open pine forest. Though recent trail upgrades have reduced the steepness of the trail in areas, hikers can expect steep terrain with some loose rock, however great views are achieved quickly. Once the trail has gained the ridge proper, the maintained trail terminates and an informal route continues along the ridge undulating over several smaller peaks, where route finding skills may be needed, particularly on the ascent to the final summit. With excellent views from any point on the ridge, hikers may choose to turn around at any point.
