Chester Lake (Winter)

MENU
Day use is permitted. Be prepared with your own hand sanitizer and toilet paper. Campgrounds are open at 50% capacity, this includes reserveable and first come, first served campgrounds. Second RV units will not be permitted on campsites, and only one household or cohort family permitted per site. Shared facilities, showers, picnic shelters and playgrounds are still currently closed. We are monitoring our actions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and will adjust our operations as needed.

This is a forested trail that leads to an alpine meadow and the lake below Mount Chester.

An annual seasonal closure will be in place on the Chester Lake Trail from May 1st to June 29th to allow the area to dry and prevent damage to the trail and surrounding area. Sawmill trails can be accessed by parking at the Sawmill trailhead six kilometres south of Chester Parking Lot. If you have questions related to this closure please call the Barrier Lake Visitor Information Centre at 403-678-0760.
