Details:Highwood Pass area, including, but not limited to, Ptarmigan Cirque Trail, Arethusa Basin, Pocaterra Cirque and Pocaterra Ridge is closed to reduce environmental degradation during wet/snowy conditions and to protect the fragile alpine environment.
Highwood Pass Day Use Area remains open to allow for the use of the facilities, but travel beyond the parking lot is prohibited.

Details:A Bear Closure is in place for a portion of Upper Kananaskis Lake Circuit trail, from North Interlakes Day Use Area to White Spruce Day Use Area. This closure includes Everest Trail and all portions of the shoreline due to a grizzly bear bluff charge.

Details:Please be advised that the contractor will be working on Saturday, June 13, at the Boulton Creek Bridge. The area will be closed to public access during this time to allow the work to be completed safely.

Details:Work will take place from approximately April 20 to June 6, 2026.
To facilitate construction activities, the section of Wheeler Trail between the Elkwood Amphitheatre and Elkwood Parking Lot will be intermittently closed to all visitors during active work periods. Heavy equipment will be operating on site.
We recognize that construction may cause inconvenience; however, this work is necessary to maintain public safety and ensure efficient project completion. Visitors are asked to follow all posted signage, respect construction barriers, and maintain a safe distance from active work zones.

Details:Please be aware that paving refurbishment is scheduled to occur at various locations throughout Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. The areas listed below will be affected, with an overall construction duration anticipated from early June to late July 2026 or until further notice. Please note that dates below are approximate (subject to change):
Floating Work (gravel tie-ins, line painting and signage installation): all areas, completed as crews are available from June 8-July 8, 2026.
Refer to the Advisory Maps enclosed for construction limits. To facilitate construction activities, heavy equipment will be working on site and single lane traffic will be in temporary effect.
