On the banks of the crystal clear Highwood River, Strawberry Provincial Recreation Area offers spacious campsites with equestrian users in mind. A seasonal option perfect for campers looking for a more remote experience with late-season access. Bring your horses and explore the backcountry when the crowds have gone home. There are hitching posts and loading ramps in the campground, and easy access to trails in the vicinity.
Hwy. 40 west of Peter Lougheed Provincial Park to Highwood House is closed annually from Dec. 1 to June 14.
