Natural Region Description

This area has: mesic shrubby grassland interspersed with aspen groves; alluvial terraces of Caribou River; dry south-facing grassland on escarpment of Peace River; shrublands of buckbush and rose; and meander scars. It is remnant grassland of the Peace River Parkland Sub-region of the Parkland Natural Region. An ungulate winter range, this area is a migration corridor between the Peace River and Caribou Mountains.
