Natural Region Description

With its saline soils, this site contains diverse habitats, from aspen forest to wetlands. Several species uncommon to northern Alberta occur here. All major vegetation types of northern salt meadow are found in the area. (Salt meadows are uncommon in the Boreal Forest Natural Region.)
