Explore the rich plant biodiversity of the beautiful Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park at Botany Alberta, organized by the Alberta Native Plant Council (ANPC). Participate in guided hikes and enjoy social activities with fellow plant enthusiasts.

Event Highlights:

  • Saturday - Lily Lake Trail: A prime hike showcasing boreal clinal variation, from Boreal Upland with lodgepole pine and mountain ash to a beautiful boreal treed fen with northern beech fern.
  • Saturday Evening Social: An evening at the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation to trade stories about the day's activities and mingle with fellow plant enthusiasts. 
  • Sunday - Whispering Sands Trail and Devonshire Beach: A sand dune and beach walk featuring rare plant species like Sitka Willow, Canada Rice Grass, and Flat-topped Goldenrod, along with fantastic photo opportunities of Bald Eagles and other wildlife.
