Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park

Alberta Parks

Discover more of Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park and explore seven parks that offer a chance to camp somewhere new and experience Alberta from a different point of view.

The Lesser Slave Lake area is home to some incredibly diverse landscapes. Join Boreal Centre Educator Braidi & Alberta Parks Interpreter Alisa on a walk around the Slave Lake Visitor Centre to discover the special plants of the Boreal Forest.

  • This program is brought to you by the Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory Society, the Lesser Slave Forest Education Society, and Alberta Parks.
  • As this program will be outside of the Provincial Parks, we will be collecting plant samples during the walk for a demonstration on research grade plant pressing techniques.
  • Please download the iNaturalist App and make an account prior to joining us.
  • Pre-registration is required.
