Did you know that there is world-class avian research happening right on your doorstep? Investigate the exciting world of birds and the boreal forest through the Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory (LSLBO) research and monitoring programs.

This program is an in-depth interactive experience at the LSLBO.  It takes a look at one or more of the current research and migration monitoring programs

  • Spring and Fall Migration Monitoring
  • MAPS - Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship (study of breeding birds in the area)
  • Northern Saw-whet Owl Fall Migration Monitoring

The program includes a hands-on investigation of the scientific data that is collected and its importance for bird conservation.
