This mostly flat loop trail is just outside the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation. It meanders through a towering aspen poplar forest, with benches to stop, watch and listen for birds. Interpretive signs introduce the secret lives of birds of the boreal forest. In winter, it's a great place to learn and practice cross-country ski skills. Keep an eye out for winter residents like the black capped chickadee, downy woodpecker and pine siskin. There is a gentle slope along one section of trail but the packed gravel trail is accessible to wheelchairs.
