Please be advised that there have been multiple sightings of bears throughout Young's Point Provincial Park.

Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
Keep your pet on a leash.
Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible and know how to use it.
Secure attractants like food, garbage, pet food and any scented items in hard sided vehicles or bear proof lockers.

Young’s Point Day Use Area includes a large open space with multiple picnic areas and firepits, perfect for spending a day at the park. For those looking to explore the park, there is over 10 km of hiking and biking trails, playgrounds and a bike track. Launch your boat and enjoy fishing, waterskiing, tubing or relaxing on the lake while watching the pelicans fly overhead. In the winter, enjoy cross-country skiing on the trails and ice fishing from the lake.
