  • Construction Advisory - Shaw Lake Day Use Area

      December 23, 2020

      Shaw Lake Day Use Area in Lakeland Provincial Park has gone through a major trail rejuvenation project that has widened trails with mulching and removing hazardous trees along the trails. 

      • The area is now open to the public for day use visitation.
      • The warming shelter is closed as it is still under construction.
      • Open fires are only permitted in designated pits – there are 2 outside firepits located in the trees at the staging area; one is west of the shelter and the other is in North of the garbage bin.  

  • Closure - Trail for Isthmuth Bridge Closed

      September 7, 2020

      • Due to past years of  high water levels, the portion of trail for the Isthmuth Bridge that goes over the confluence of Jackson Lake and Kinnaird Lake is impassable as it has been damaged and is not suitable trail to be used.

  • Blackett Lake Trail Update

      September 7, 2020

      • Blackett Lake Trail is open but in poor condition. Precautions should be taken if using this route, or plan to avoid this trail use if possible.
