Discharge Permits Required for Hunting

A no charge Firearms Discharge Permit may be obtained by filling out an application in person at the Grande Prairie Parks Office..

Office hours are Monday to Friday from 8:15 to noon and 1:00pm to 4:30. Applications will be processed every Friday morning and available for pick up after 1:00pm. For more information contact 780-538-5350.

Natural Region Description

The highest feature on the landscape west of Grande Prairie, Saskatoon Mountain is an island of foothills forest surrounded by agricultural land. The site features a 70-metre-high hill with both steep and gradual slopes. Diverse forests of aspen, balsam poplar, white spruce and birch are interspersed with wetlands and small sloughs.
