Liquor Consumption

  • - Is permitted in designated day-use picnic sites only between the hours of 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.
  • - Must also be accompanied by food, which aligns with the Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis Act.
  • - In any public place other than a registered campsite or a designated day-use area picnic site remains illegal.

    Designated Camping Areas 1-7 will open for 2020 on May 1.

    Castle Tree Cutting Permits are issued by Alberta Environment and Parks staff, Mon - Fri from 8:15 to 4:30. (offices are closed from 12 to 1 p.m.)

    Snowmobiles are permitted on designated winter trails and random ride areas in the Castle Provincial Parks. Use at your own risk. Please be respectful to non-motorized trail users and avoid wildlife. Check out the Winter Guide and Map for full OHV requirements and a trail map.

Notes

    • You can view winter trail reports here.
    • The vault toilet is accessible.  Winter adaptive equipment is available to promote universal use of these trails.  Please contact 403-627-1152 for more information.
    • This is a staging area for equestrian users.
    • You are expected to bring your own drinking water year-round.  In winter, no water is available.  In summer, water from pumps or taps in the area may be used ONLY for purposes like putting out a campfire. Government of Alberta regulations require that water from pumps/taps like those in the area NOT be used for drinking, cooking or washing (including brushing teeth and washing dishes).
