Syncline South Day Use

Effective Date: October 5, 2026

Where: Castle Provincial Park

Details: Please be advised that annual cattle round-up activities will be taking place throughout the Castle Park  beginning October 5 and continuing for approximately two weeks. Expect increased cattle, horseback riders, ATVs, and support vehicles on roads and throughout the park. Temporary reduced speed zones and warning signage will be in place. Please use caution, follow posted signage, and be prepared for occasional delays while cattle are being moved. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Where: Castle Provincial Park , Designated Camping Area 3 Campground

Details: Designated Camping Area 3B (Wolfberry) will have a partial closure from May 1 to August 31, 2026. The upper loop of the camping area will be closed for any recreation activities while the lower sites remain open.
  • Access to the bathroom is still available. 
  • Please follow all posted signs and fence barriers.

Only steps away from the intricate Syncline Trail Network, Syncline South Day Use Area offers visitors ample parking, information signs, picnic tables, outdoor fire pit for cozier summer nights, and a quaint warming hut perfect for apres-ski. In the summer enjoy equestrian, mountain bike, and hiking trails, and in the winter enjoy winter hiking, snowshoeing and groomed cross country ski trails (view the Live Grooming Report).
