Bovin (Blue) Lake

The trails at Bovin (Blue) Lake are multi-purpose use, including horseback riding, mountain biking, backcountry camping and hiking.  From your alpine perch on the trails, you can marvel at the panoramic views of the expansive foothills and prairies.

The trail to Bovin Lake starts on an active industrial road. If possible, biking the first 4km of trails will make the overall hiking experience more enjoyable. The next 6km of trail is over rolling, reclaimed road that is overall a gentle grade with some steep, rocky sections. This trail is a great option for a day hike or an opportunity to backcountry camp at the lake at the base of Loaf Mountain.

Do not follow the Google Maps directions using Range Road 303 – this road is closed as it travels through private land
